Three weeks' leave for new Eczacıbaşı fathers

The Eczacıbaşı Group has introduced three weeks' paid leave for fathers following the birth of their baby, followed by one day a week for the subsequent three weeks. The purpose of the new measure is to give fathers the opportunity of spending time with their newborns and sharing parenting responsibilities.

Eczacıbaşı Group CEO Atalay Gümrah announced the new measure, which is part of the Group's ongoing equal opportunities drive "AllforAll" on Father's Day, and noted that men must take on as much responsibility as women in family life if women are to be as active as men in social life. "With this in mind," he said, "we are adopting a new measure in the Eczacıbaşı Group that will help all Eczacıbaşı fathers spend more time with their newborns, build stronger bonds with them, and play an active role in their care and development…We believe that a father's first and foremost job in life is fatherhood. We have no doubt that happier, more peaceful, and more equitable societies are achievable if we have happier families and children."
