Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts

The Eczacıbaşı Group is the Founding Sponsor of the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV), established in 1973 on the initiative of Dr. Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı. IKSV organizes the Istanbul Festivals of Music, Film, Theatre and Jazz, as well as the Istanbul Biennial, the Istanbul Design Biennial, Leyla Gencer Voice Competition, autumn film week Filmekimi, and one-off events throughout the year. It also organizes the Pavilion of Turkey at the International Art and Architecture Exhibitions of la Biennale di Venezia and coordinates an artist residency program at Cite International des Arts, France.
Aside from organizing cultural and artistic events, IKSV plays a key role both in the production of culture and art and the development of sustainable cultural policies in Turkey through awards, the commissioning of works, participation in international and local co-productions, and studies aimed at supporting policy decisions involving culture and the arts.
Every year, as İKSV’s Founding Sponsor, the Eczacıbaşı Group prepares a special communication campaign to enhance public awareness of İKSV festivals. In 2017, on the occasion of the Foundation’s 45th anniversary, the Group prepared a special film highlighting how “being there” has enriched the lives of festival-goers.

İKSV Culture&Art Card
The Eczacıbaşı Group is also the main sponsor of the İKSV Culture&Art Card project, launched in 2017 to increase the access of university students to culture and art events.
Since 2017, through the İKSV Culture&Art Card project, 4000 university students between the ages of 18 and 25 studying in Turkey received an İKSV Culture&Art Card with TL250 worth of credit for admission to any İKSV event. With the support of the Eczcıbaşı Group, the project will continue in the years ahead.
