Turkish Informatics Foundation

The Eczacıbaşı Group is a corporate sponsor of the Turkish Informatics Foundation (TBV), established in 1995 through the efforts of the Group’s vice-chairman, Faruk Eczacıbaşı, also the foundation’s current chairman. The foundation’s main goal is to contribute to the development of the legal, technical and physical infrastructure required for Turkey’s full transition to an information-based society.
In 2017, TBV launched Turkey’s first award competition for digital games that contribute to students’ understanding of mathematics and the sciences. The KOD Awards, as the competition is called, aim to highlight the important contribution that information technologies can make to primary, middle school and high school level education, support people and institutions with ideas or games of this kind, and motivate new generations to enter this field.
The Eczacıbaşı Group is the main sponsor of this competition, which is the first in Turkey to give awards to math and science games. Any individual or institution may enter the competition with a math and science game or an idea for a math and science game. The winning games will become part of the national curriculum.
