İlkay Akalın

İlkay Akalın graduated from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Middle East Technical University in 1994. Between 1995 and 1997, while pursuing a master’s degree in Women’s Studies at the same department, she worked as Project Coordinator for the National Program to Empower Women’s Participation in Development, a UNDP project.

Akalın joined the Eczacıbaşı Group in 1998 and currently serves as Corporate Communications Coordinator at Eczacıbaşı Holding. Since 2010, she has also been serving as Secretary General of the Dr. Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı Foundation, which carries out activities aimed at contributing to education in Türkiye, supporting scientific research, and preserving and promoting Turkish culture and the arts. She also serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of Eczacıbaşı Sports Club as of the end of 2025.

Guided by the belief that a sustainable future is only possible through the active participation of women in all areas of life, İlkay Akalın has been a member of the Eczacıbaşı Group's Equal Opportunity Working Group since 2014. The Working Group aims to strengthen gender equality and support the equal participation of women in working life.
