VitrA Innovation Center wins first prize from the Ministry of Industry and Technology

VitrA Innovation Center ranks at the top of all R&D centers in Turkey employing 76-250 people, according to the Ministry of Industry and Technology's 2018 R&D Center Performance Index. Ali Aköz, Vice President of the Eczacıbaşı Building Products Division, and Boğaç Şimşir, Eczacıbaşı Building Products Innovation Director, received the center's award from Turkey's Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank at a ceremony that took place in Ankara on 17 November 2019.

According to the Ministry's Performance Index for R&D Centers, VitrA Innovation Center was the most successful R&D center in the glass and ceramics industry for five consecutive years between 2013 and 2017. In 2017, it was also named second best R&D Center overall in Turkey.

In 2018, the Ministry changed the categories it uses for ranking R&D centers from industries to number of R&D employees. The Ministry now ranks R&D centers in five categories ranging from 15-35 R&D personnel to those with 250 or more.
